Burn Notification

  • The burn notification form was created to make it easier to keep the City, East Wise Fire Rescue, and the County Dispatch office aware of burning activities in New Fairview.
  • Prior to completing the burn notification form, you MUST review and complete the following:
  1. You MUST check the Wise County Fire Marshall Facebook page, located here, to determine if there is a burn ban.
  2. You MUST NOT begin burning any earlier than one hour after sunrise and end the same day no later than one hour before sunset – NO BURNING AT NIGHT.
  3. You MUST NOT burn if wind speeds (either constant or gusts) are greater than 23 MPH.

    Section 3. A Burning of garbage, trash, or waste material is prohibited.

    Section 3.B Controlled burning of brush may be done only after obtaining a burn permit at city hall.

    Penalty Any person violating any provision of the ordinance shall be deem guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be subject to a fine of not more than one hundred dollars. Each transaction in violation shall be deemed a separate violation.

All of the information listed in this application is complete and true. I understand that at any time conditions are unsafe or not in compliance with the listed conditions or conditions on-site become unsafe, that any permit, if issued, can be revoked by the City of New Fairview. A complete application is not a permit, nor is it conditional that a permit be issued. All fees shall be paid prior to the work and in full. I/company shall maintain our own insurance and coverage assuming all liabilities potential and unknown. I also understand that this application is not inclusive and other permits may be required by other departments and entities
