City Council
A longtime resident of New Fairview, Councilman Mickey Malone is passionate about the community and people of the area.
Born and raised in Southern Illinois, he first moved to Texas in 1984 as an employee of Braniff Airlines in Dallas. After a short stint in Orlando, he was hired by American Airlines (AA) for a maintenance management position in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1991, he returned to North Texas to open the AA Maintenance and Overhaul Base at Alliance Airport. He and his wife Tammy moved to New Fairview in 1993, where they raised two sons and fell in love with the neighborly environment. When the Alliance base closed in 2013, he moved to DFW airport to lead the MRO Vendor Maintenance Planning group. As part of his ongoing role there, Councilman Malone oversees aircraft maintenance planning at multiple locations through the United States and South America. He holds an AAS degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Tarrant County Junior College, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanics license.
In addition to his professional work, Councilman Malone and his wife have been involved for many years in various forms of Christian ministry. While raising their children, they were active in supporting local 4H programs and are deeply committed to the close-knit community ideal of neighbors help neighbors. In both his professional and personal pursuits, he has developed skills in leadership, planning, budgeting, and project management, which benefit him in his community service. Councilman Malone was appointed to Place 2 on the City Council following the May 2021 election, and is dedicated to making decisions by the voice of the people.
Councilman Malone and his wife currently reside on a small acreage off South County Line Road. In their free time, they enjoy raising chickens, gardening, and playing music together—Councilman Malone plays the guitar and his wife Tammy plays the piano.
