City Council
To be eligible for the office of Mayor, a person must be a registered voter in the city and must have resided in the city limits for at least 12 months prior to the election.
To be eligible for the office of Council Member, a person must be a registered vote in the city and reside in the city limits on election day.
The City contracts with the Wise County Elections Administrator to conduct all municipal elections.

The City of New Fairview will hold a General Election for the election of three (3) city council members, Places 1, 3, and Mayor on May 1, 2021. An application for a place on the ballot in the general election may be submitted at the New Fairview City Hall between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm from January 15, 2021, through February 12, 2021. The main location for the election will be the Elections Office, 200 S. Trinity Street, Decatur, TX 76234.
The City of New Fairview will hold a Special Election for the election of one (1) city council member, Place 5, to fill an unexpired term on May 1, 2021. An application for a place on the ballot in the special election may be submitted at the New Fairview City Hall between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm from January 21, 2020, through March 1, 2020. The main location for the election will be the Elections Office, 200 S. Trinity Street, Decatur, TX 76234.
